About Me

Hi! I’m Elizabeth, and I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m the photographer behind Ember and Light Photography, based in Colorado Springs. I work with families, high school seniors, and pets. My style leans toward natural light, candid moments, and genuine connection. I don’t believe in stiff poses or perfection. I believe in capturing what’s real and meaningful, those little looks and fleeting smiles that say so much.

Photography has been a part of my life for over 20 years, but only recently have I started putting myself out there, turning this into something more. What pushed me to take the leap? My son. He’s blind, and he sees the world differently. Through him, I’ve come to appreciate all the ways we experience life. This has made me want to document the beauty in all its forms, especially the quiet moments that often go unnoticed.

Whether I’m working with high school seniors, toddlers, or dogs who think they’re human, I show up ready for real life. My sessions are laid back, a little silly, and focused on connection. You don’t have to perform or be anything other than yourself. I’ll guide you gently when you need it and step back when the moment speaks for itself. The best photos come from those in-between moments, the goofy grins, the side glances, the way someone relaxes when they’re with the people (or pets) they love.

When I’m not holding a camera, I’m with my family or hanging out with my dogs. I drink more tea than coffee, say yes to dessert, and still get nervous before every session because I care that much.

Thank you for visiting. I’d love the chance to photograph your story, just as it is.
